Brain Gain

The Kerala State Higher Education in pursuit of transforming the higher education of Kerala to a Knowledge Economy and enhancement of state's intellectual property contribution, invites scholars /scientists of non-resident Keralite working in world-famous universities and research institutions specializing in emerging areas of knowledge across the world The Council is building up a comprehensive database of the Keralite-Academic Diaspora of Scientists, Social Scientists and Humanities Experts in Universities and Research Institutions abroad working in famous Universities and Research Institutions the world over and specialising in emerging areas of knowledge.

The purpose of this scheme is to invite these experts for engaging in academic & research for the benefit of students and teachers of universities in the State.

Similar in tune with Erudite Scholars in Residence scheme of KSHEC, a corollary under the name Brain Gain by identifying a larger group of experts ready to make themselves available for a relatively long duration but at a smaller cost for teaching and research.

It will facilitate brain circulation by bringing the experts as short-term teachers, part-time collaborators in projects and co-supervisors in researches. The Department of Higher Education, Government has officially launched the Scheme in January 2022. So that the academic community in the state as well as Keralite Academic Diaspora around the globe can mutually contribute and share the intellectual resources for meeting the larger developmental goals and research productivity of the state. Involve them in the reconstitution of curricula of higher education.

Provide advisory support to government in enhancing quality of higher education.

Scholar Registration

For enabling the scholars to register for this scheme, KSHEC maintains a dedicated platform. This will be shared with the state academic & research institutions for preparing suitable academic plan in tune with scholar's area of interest & institutional choice.
