Notification
The Kerala State Higher
Education Council would conduct/extend financial assistance
for the conduct of the following programmes. |

1 |
State level training
programme in
Informatics
The Council has decided to
impart five-day training to college teachers in Informatics,
within a time span of three months. Training sessions will
be conducted at various institutions under IHRD, spread
across the State. The training will cover the entire
syllabi proposed by HEC for Informatics course and will have
both theory and application components. The entire
expenditure of the training programme will be met by the
Council. To be selected for the training programme, college
teachers need to apply individually in the prescribed
application form, which is to be countersigned and forwarded
by the Principal to the office of the Council before 10th
July, 2009. |

State level orientation
programme on Methodology Courses
The Council would hold a
series of two day orientation programmes for members of
various Boards of Studies on Methodology Courses prescribed
as part of the Restructured Under Graduate Programme,
during July, 2009. Members of the Boards of Studies in
various Universities may directly apply to the Council in
the prescribed application form before 10th
July 2009. |

University level
orientation programme on Common/Methodology Courses
Individual Boards of Studies
of various universities may hold two-day orientation
programmes on Common/Methodology courses prescribed under
the restructured undergraduate programme. Applications for
financial assistance will have to be submitted by the
chairperson of the Board concerned duly recommended and
forwarded by the Registrar of the University in the
prescribed format. The Council will advance a maximum of Rs.
25,000/- through the Registrars of the university concerned. |

Department level
orientation programme on Restructuring Undergraduate
Education
Individual departments in
various colleges may hold One-day department level
orientation programme in Grading and Restructuring
Undergraduate Education on the basis of the regulations of
the university & syllabi approved by the Boards of Studies.
Applications will have to be submitted by the Head of the
Department concerned in the prescribed format. The Council
will reimburse a maximum of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand
only) on the basis of (a) Statement of Expenditure (B)
Utilization Certificate and (d) Report on the programme. |

College level orientation
programme
on Restructuring
Undergraduate Education
Individual colleges may hold
One-day College level orientation on Grading & Restructuring
Undergraduate Education on the basis of the Manual on
Grading and Report on Restructuring Undergraduate Education
approved by the Council. Applications for financial
assistance will have to be submitted by the Principal
concerned in the prescribed format. The Council will
reimburse a maximum of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand
Only) on the basis of (a) statement of expenditure (b)
utilization certificate and (c) report on the programme
submitted by the Principal. |

Cluster level orientation programme
on
Restructuring Undergraduate
Education
A minimum of three neighboring
colleges may jointly hold Two-day Cluster level orientation
on Restructuring Undergraduate Education on the basis of the
Report on Restructuring Undergraduate Education and Manual
on Grading approved by the Council. Applications for
financial assistance will have to be submitted jointly by
the principals concerned in the prescribed format. The
Council will reimburse a maximum of Rs.25,000/-(Rupees
Twenty Five Thousand Only) on the basis of (a) statement of
expenditure (b) utilization certificate and (c) report on
the programme jointly submitted by the principals concerned. |

Seminar on Draft State
Policy on Higher Education and the Scheme of Cluster of
Colleges
Approved academic forums in
universities and colleges may hold One-day Seminar on Draft
State Policy on Higher Education and the Scheme of Cluster
of Colleges in collaboration with the Higher Education
Council on the basis of the draft Report on the State Policy
on Higher Education released by the Council and the Report
on the Scheme of Cluster of Colleges approved by the
Council. Applications for financial assistance will have to
be submitted by the academic forums concerned duly
recommended and forwarded by the Principal of the
college/the Registrar of the University in the prescribed
format. The Council will reimburse a maximum of Rs.8,000/-
(Rupees Eight Thousand Only) on the basis of (a) statement
of expenditure (b) utilization certificate and (c) detailed
minutes of the proceedings, all certified by the Principal
of the College/Registrar of the University. |

Undergraduate Education”, “Manual on Grading”, “Scheme of
Cluster of Colleges”, “General outline of the structure and
content of restructured courses” and “Draft Report on State
Policy on Higher Education” are available on the Council’s
website.
